How much would you be willing to give...

I met a guy last night who has some parts and pieces he wants to sale. He is what he has:
1. 72 2wd sb fleet orig. big block truck with matching number engine & A/C. The truck has no bed, transmission & the interior has been stripped. Rockers, fenders, hood & cab seen to be solid.
2.The BB has been rebuilt but was left out on the front porch. He showed me where water got into number 1&3 cylinder holes and caused a little damage. Has anyone ever tried to sleeve a BB? This would be all that needs to be done to getting this engine running. The motor has brackets for the ps & alt. The A/C has been stripped off the truck.
3. Misc. parts included 2 72 original hoods, 2 original fenders w/ no dents or rust except for the front lower cup area. 3 dashes w/ gauges, 2 dashes w/o gauges, 2 factory no tilt steering columns, NOS factory door weatherstripping, 3 solid back glasses, 1 non-butchered wiring harness, 3 pairs sunvisors in good shape, 1 excellent shape head liner, 4 15X8 truck rally's w/ no rings or centers, 2 foot operated emergency brakes, NOS emergency brake cables, Misc. A/C balls & holders, heater parts & other odds & end pieces & a few pieces of Original trim in good shape.

What would you think all this would be worth? I did not want to tick the guy off by offering him something way off what he is wanting for all this. He says it has all got to go t make room the the camaro project.

Thanks,
Ryan

Talking

Sleeving the block should not be a problem. there are lots of stuff with the truck, but it is going to take some time and money to do the repairs. I agree with the $1000 offer because you have a basket case to deal with.

Depends on your market. I paid $500 and drove the big block home wrapped up in the rest of the truck.

If you have $1000 laying around and your comfortable spending it on a pile of stuff then go for it if He'll take it . I wouldnt pay more than $400 but thats me and my area talking.

Lowball him. You don't want him to snatch your $1000 and say, "Wow, I'd have taken half that!" Then you can sell the extra stuff really cheap to us on the board! Win-win!!!
