The '59 Fairlane
Got some pics with my camera to put on here now. This is a jump off from a thread before I bought it so here is the story again. 54,000 original miles, old lady stoped driving it in 1964 from old age sit in a shed. 292 Y block 3 speed auto, factory a/c, various documents and orginal jack/tools ect. The PO i got it from received it from the original owners family. He adjusted the valves and got it running good and drove it for a summer. Then decided to start a restore and got the eng ready to pull and did a lil body work. Then he lost interst and I got it for 1000 dollars worh of trade. I got the eng mostly back together except the a/c compressor. Want to get it running first. Right now there is a pinhole in the upper tank that needs brazed and the motor cranks but wont fire yet. Letting batery charge then I will check for spark. dumping gas in carb and it just cranks so I am assuming no spark. Well here's a bunch of pics.

Wow! I just read your other thread. Great find! I would love something like that for my wife & kids to cruise. That thing is beautiful!!!
By the way...what are the plans? Not too much I hope. Keep that thing original...it has a ton going for it.

Re: The '59 Fairlane
Thanks Driveway. Im not too sure on the plans yet. Definitly keep it orginal. take care of the body work and maybe paint it. Prolly have to be original altho this is kinda a funky green. I dont even know if I want to take the rest of the plastic off the rear seat. For now I just plan on getting it running and driveable. Should fire up anytime I think I have it flooded for now Brakes feel spongy either just need bleed or gone through and I should be on the road. Cruise it to a couple local car shows and just to drive around town and turn heads. I have never been big into old cars, let alone a ford, but this one came as a good deal and is already growing on me.

Re: The '59 Fairlane
Well she still wont fire I have spark and all. Talked to a ford guy here in town and he said they are bad about flooding and once you get them flooded they are a bear to start. He said to hold the carb open and take the plugs out and let the manifold and cylenders dry overnight. When taking out the plugs #5 and #8 both had alot of antifreeze on them crossing fingers and hoping its a head gasket and nothing else. The PO said he drove it all last summer and it ran fine then parked it to start a resto. So....hopefully a head gasket will do me. Will tear down shortly and find out.

Re: The '59 Fairlane
that thing looks pretty clean, especially the interior and engine bay.
