Have some questions on cab and front end swaps.

I have read about EVERY clip or cab swap thread on here.. Just want to clearify a few things. If I want to put a 76 front clip on a 82 chevy truck. I read where some had to cut core support mounts off and move them.. then some say that they didnt have to. WHY is this??? are some using the wrong bushings?? or do I really need to cut the core support mounts off and move them? someone that knows please fill me in.. OK now for part 2..... IF I was to take a 85 cab and install on a 77 chassis... What bushing/mounts do I need for the older chassis? Or is it use old style bushings for old chassis and new style bushings for new chassis?
