MY version of a build page for my 65 swb

Well i'll try to put together some kinda organized format of this truck coming together.
What i started with was a motor trannyless pile off part that i guess grumpy on this board traded to a friend who i gave an old metal lathe to for.
So far i got the frame z'ed 4in in the front and 6in in the rear. 2600 lb airlift bags.
the main plan is a daily driver with overdrive A/C keyless entry just a soild driver with a few creature comforts. with a beat old farm truck wrapper.
basically i loved the white 64 we built at RPM. just doing one for me to have fun with my other truck's are just to nice and not fun to drive there just to nice.

Yep. I had that truck brought up from NC. Didnt do anything to it. Traded it off on a hardtailed sportster bobber project.

Glad to see it coming together.

Re: MY version of a build page for my 65 swb

rayday - thanks for posting - quick question for you, what are those wheels from? 71+ K10 wheels? And what disk brake package (or whose) are you using? Or a stock chev swap from later model? (what rotor diameter also...)

Nice work - lookin good!

Re: MY version of a build page for my 65 swb

The wheels are 15x7 with 3.5 in b.s. dated 1984 they were on an old trailer when i got them. and i'm using all 4 drums just a power booster from an a body? i thing and a dual line m/c from an all drum 66 gm car like Biscayne/Bonneville something like that.

How are you going to change the bolt pattern on your truck to match the car wheels?

Cool build! Why such a large notch in there rear? Is it to bring the rear links up?

not really. If you look in the first pics i posted. There is a blue spot were i cleaned to bare metal and sprayed with layout die. I cut it there on an angle. so 4 in up also pushed wheels 1in forward. And in front of steering i cut straight down but lowered front 5 in because it body dropped truck 1in. too im bad at taking pics i just go and some times i remember to snap a few when im leaving for the day

Looking good! I wish I could have found an original paint truck that way I wouldn't have to do paint and body work! I was wondering what kind of paint you used on the c/k truck that is laid out? I want to use a flat blue and white on mine! Keep up the progress I'm watching!
