here is my build.it has been on the road for a year.lots of nights and weekends.


front sheet metal was beat up to much to save




had a small head 454(small port heads,not worth keeping)

so much rust i had to rebuild this entire front edge,good way to get sheet metal experience


the leading edge was replaced from door to door

stitching it back together.pay attention to the door handle!




removed the stock door handles.i dropped the handle location 3 inches and
put on 1966 door handles(looks much better to me).let me know what you guys and gals think.

interior gas tank is gone! my bucket seats are in its place

everything but glass & paint was done in the garage at the apartmentcomplex I used to live in.here is more pics.



rocker panels,a pillars and 3 inches of the floor by the rockers were replaced on both sides

i sectioned the inner part of the roof so I would not have to split the ribs




the truck used to have a camper on it,there was boot snaps around the rear window that got welded closed


in this pic you can see the rain gutter was boxed all the way around and extended a couple of inches down to the body line


a perforated metal panel was used to make trash guards

cleaned up front suspension and installed 2 1/2 inch drop spindles




airbag suspension installed but ended up changing the bags from firestone to slam specialties.that allowed me to remove the upper & lower bumpstops.the swaybar is also gone now.I used the firestones to replace the old ones on my 65 belair

it's been busy around here for the last couple of days but I had some to post more pics.

67 fenders were used to eliminate side marker lights




320hp 350ci(bought it complete with 8000 miles for $800.00) with a turbo 350 transmission that I built


picked up 2 grill shells on ebay for $450.00.1 in good condition,1 mint condition!

I did a 2 inch notch,made the radius plate and boxed it.

I cut the stock shock mounts and gave them some style.I know nobody will probably see them but I will!!


getting ready to build the bed skeleton to hold the 4 rib aluminum floor.truck
had a wood bed but would not be practical for me since I will be hauling tools
& metal for working on cars.

bed skeleton done,I did the bed with roll on bedliner and the 4 rib aluminum sheet is being put in with a little shaving.

my other daily driver.1965 belair(bagged also)

the gate had some damage but cleaned up well.

interior is almost done.'slightly' modified quicksilver shifter.

center console is made from some 18 ga sheet matal and a damaged roof exhaust fan.air gauge mount is done out of 3/8 round bar,exhaust tube and
3/16 plate.

snare drum gas pedal from 1965.og lowback bucket seats from beard bolted to the floor.

just a couple of things to put on and ready for glass.truck was painted with
hot rod flatz,cut with 2000 grip and buffed with dull rubbing compound

hood is ready to go on




A BLAST TO DRIVE!!
getting ready for an additional 4 inches of drop in the rear and some front fenderwell work.when done,I will be able to drive it aired out.

thanks for the props guys.i burned up a makita 4" grinder building the truck!

lox 69 , if i would have known about this site when i started the build,i would have taken alot more pics.right now i'm waiting on my stepnotch kit from thorbecke bros..going to modify wheelwells,get some stock trailing arms(doing a 3" 'z' on them) and have already re-routed the exhaust and drop the rear another 4-5 inches.there will be alot of pics on this.

Those looked like six lug disc breaks? Who did you buy them through??

the front suspension was rebuilt when I bought it.I believe the disc brakes were picked up from the truck shop in orange.

I built a cantilever rear suspension for the truck a few months back.here is a couple of pics.1st pic shows the suicide doors step notch.2nd pic is the ece dropped trailing arm crossmember.3rd pic is my cantilever setup with integrated bag mount.last pic is the new bullet.my version of hot rod mags agent 87.it's a 383 with a hydraulic roller cam.i have more pics but they are on my digtal camera.stay tuned for a build thread on the hood mods!
