Newbie

Hey guys Im new to the site. So if I ask questions that been answered before I apologize in advance. I got a 67 C10 SWB and a 53 5 window as projects started. Here is my question

What year S10 do I need for a donor truck for the 53? Long wheel base or will a standard cab work the best? All help is appreciated.

Re: Newbie

Look around a bit with the search function. There are many build threads such as "project Poisen Ivy". I am not building one but I believe it is a regular cab long box s10 you are after.

Re: Newbie

Thanx bean, learning my way around site. That poison ivy is a sick build, I remember it from Classic truck cover page. Props to the builder.

Re: Newbie

like bean said there are a lot of great build threads on this site. the best s10 frame to use would be the reg cab long box. if i remember it has a 117.9 inch wheel base. the extended cab wheel base is 122.9 inchs and you would have to cut about 7 inchs out of the middle of the frame to get it to the stock wheel base of the 1/2 ton AD trucks.

as for the years of the s10 frame if I remember from when I as looking for information, it does not matter. I am using a 95 frame but I have seen a lot of frames from the 80's being used. And I don't have a build thread up. still trying to find the time to write on and find time to take pictures. I'm bad for not taking pic's.
