I am concidering dropping my truck 3" this winter. I have noticed one of the vendors on our forums sells the drop coils for $99 a set, and at that price I think I would go for it. Is this all that is needed to do a 3" drop, or are there other things involved like shocks?

Oh, by the way, if it matters........69 GMC longbox fleetside with rear coils, drum brakes front and back.

You can use a 3'' spring in the front but I have heard that It causes alignment issues. as far as the back order a kit from early classic because you will need a shorter track bar when you lower it.

for 3 inches you can use springs like posted above. But, for the rear you will have to have an adjustable track bar. You don't necisarrly have to buy a rear kit though. You can get the adjustable trackbar from early classic for about 60 or 70 bucks. If you are like the rest of the guys that lower stuff you will end up selling half of your stuff and lowering more.... Choose your setup carefully you'll save a lot of money!

Yep when you start lowering it you will want to go lower and lower.....

3 inch springs don't cause any issues. I've dropped gobs of these things with springs with no problems.

Want to save some money? Cut 1 coil off your stock front springs. Presto, 3 inch drop. Now, some people are going to chime in here and say they've read/ heard it's going to kill the ride. I have personaly done it many times with no ride problems. Hell, if you're not happy with it, it hasn't cost you anything.

Remove one coil from each of the fronts and you will get that drop. I've also done it without any problems. And picking up another set of stock coils is simple, they are everywhere, found in two decades of chevy trucks and vans. I've not had any alignment problems either, with the chopped coils and dropped spindles.

In regards to the rear 3" drop you should not require a adjustable track arm bar only dropping it 3", to make certain after dropping with stock bar in place measure from either brake backing plate to frame, if measurement is the same from side to side your good to go!!
