69 gmc manual transmission

I have a 69 gmc with factory 4 speed manual transmission and want to know if anyone has put synthetic oil in theirs. If so any problems. What did you use for oil?

We are getten 50 or 60 or more years from the trannys usen reg. 90 w. gear oil like the books says. if it broke don,t fix it.
