Late model Crossmember needed???

I received quote on prices from Stan at ECE... 4/6 drop, disc power brake upgrade, and power steering upgrade... Then I mentioned that I bought donor truck to pull LS 5.3 and 4L60E. And he asked if I was replacing the front cross member.

So do I need to replace my front cross member for the LS motor? What benefits does the later model cross members have, if any?

No you don't need the later crossmember, it is just the parts are much cheaper when replacement time comes. Jim

That's what I'm doing for my swap. Plus, it makes going to disc brakes easier and less work (in my opinion, and learning from others on this board). I'm going to use a 73'-87' cross member for my 69'.

Ordering the complete disc brake conversion kit from ECE... So brakes is not an issue, but what about the LS swap? Motor mounts work on my cross member?

These: http://www.earlyclassic.com/catalog....ry=New%20Items
or,

will work with my 69', but I don't know what year you have. The early classic kit comes with the 73'-87' frame mounts. That's why they want to know if you have already swapped the crossmember. Look into the engine swap section under lsx swaps and review people builds. This is where I get a lot of what I have learned.
