67-72 headlight switch on 41-46
Ok, I have looked at many post and using the 67-72 --Napa and rockauto show same part # ---- I used these hookups to get the headlights, taillights-parking lights, interior dome light, dash with adjustments to work with key off.
Tell me where I went wrong but I tested using a meter then hooked them up and tested on the 46 truck. Post number: 1 --- 12 volt battery 2 --- dash lights 3/4 ---taillights, front parking lights 5 --- 12V battery and dome hot wire (orange) 6 --- headlight to dim/bright switch 7 --- not used Dome ground on dome ground lug --front right -top Grounded switch frame. If I used 12 battery only to #1, switch only yielded voltage on post 6 and 7.

Re: 67-72 headlight switch on 41-46
I have a 46 that I am using a 72 switch on of which I added a dome light with no door switches. I have all working but it does not match --- or at least does not look like it matches --- other thread descriptions.

Re: 67-72 headlight switch on 41-46
Here are two switches. The first one is for the 67 and older and the second one is for the 68s and later.
match them against yours and wire accordingly. The headlight switch has one red hot wire that is key off (red from the battery) and one orange wire from the fuse panel key off. The orange wire feeds power to the brown, parking/tail lights and orange to the stop light switch, and the dome light. It also feeds the dash lights through the variable resistor back to the fuse panel via a green wire to the dash lights fuse and then to the cluster plug and the heater panel light via a gray wire. Here is the fuse panel diagram showing the orange wires, and the gray wire, and the green wire from the headlight switch. The gray wire is shown by the blue arrow and the green wire is just below it they are connected by the panel lights fuse Here is the headlight switch wiring showing the wire colors. You can't tell which terminals they go to but, you can see the colors of the wires
