NeeD some tips on my 59

So I inherited my family's 59 GMC 3100. Been in the family forever. All original. 270, 4 speed, 8' fleetside, chrome trim and moldings, small back window. Only problem is there's no way for me to find the original exterior color. Whole truck was stripped and blasted years ago and my uncle can't remember what color it was before. Interior is original cadet grey I think it's called. I've looked all over the truck and cannot find the original exterior paint color anywhere. My uncle thought it might have been baltic blue like an air force blue, but he can't be sure.

Also, how common was it to have the 4 speed on the floor in these? Everything I've seen has a 3 on the tree.
Thank you

4 speed was common on trucks used for work. For original color look under the voltage regulator, fire wall grommets or under hood hinge at firewall. behind headlight and taillight bezels too. Might loosen the inner fender panels and see if there is original paint under them.
