Desert_Eagle02: Does anyone know if the 81-87 defrost vent grilles will fit a '78 dash? I'm missing the original ones, and all I can find is 81-87
73-80 dashes do not have heater vent grills that why you can find any. Only 81-91 have the heater vent grills

This may be helpfull

Re: Best Quality Dash Pad and Emblems

cheyenne dash looks good quality, anyone heard about OER or USA1 quality.
It's a lot of money to spend on a dash, if you had to choose quality & apparence, which would you choose between OER, USA1 or Cheyenne?

Re: Best Quality Dash Pad and Emblems

EDIT: IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THE PAD I BOUGHT WAS ADVERTISED AS A CHEYENNE BUT IT NOT A CHEYENNE BRAND!!!! BEWARE OF SCAMMERS
I spent the money on a Cheyenne but after a summer of sun. It has deformed so much that I think I was my money. It didn't crack but both defroster ducts popped out and is extremely wavey. I think I'll take my original to a upholstery shop.....I was happy with it but it seems like the fiberglass backing can't handle the heat. I'm not willing to spend $300.00 plus a year. It's a great product as long as it doesn't see a lot of sun.

I hope they have improved these. I have dealt with them first hand and spoke with him a lot on these pads. They are hand made here in the USA. I will refer him to this post and see if he has any input

He posted, but it was on another dash pad thread. I will post a link to that thread. Here it is. Anthony posted a comment, #21

Re: Best Quality Dash Pad and Emblems

I have a dash pad from Cheyenne, the fit was perfect and I have had zero issues.

Re: Best Quality Dash Pad and Emblems

In response to the pad that got wavy after being in the sun and heat...
I believe this could be one of the dashes someone was selling using Cheyenne Pickup Parts name. I do not use fiberglass. Mine are made with ABS, the same material we use to make fan shrouds, so we know they are able to withstand heat. We have not heard of any of our dashes having that issue.

I'm not sure where my girlfriend got it. I'll have to check but it was advertised as yours. That's why I bought it. I guess the first clue was probably when the left speaker pocket wouldn't go over the speaker. I'll edit my post, I don't want to bad mouth if it's not yours.
