Wilwood Master Cylinder Recall

Not sure how many of you all out there are running a Wilwood 7/8" bore Master cylinder but got a Recall notice Friday.
If your running one, you might look into whether or not your included in the recalled list

Dave @ Hollister

Have you heard anything about what is actually wrong with those masters?

The seal in the front circuit can become deformed on some units making the front circuit fails allowing fluid to bypass the seal and possibly leaving no braking on that circuit. If you have one or know someone that uses wildwood masters let them know.

In short it puts the wide eyed, white knuckled , puckered thrill back into driving.

Re: Wilwood Master Cylinder Recall

that four wheeler article has actual info about the failure mode, first I've seen since this began.

I've seen a couple post that said Wilwood has been getting these units back for warranty for years, ignored the problem.

Re: Wilwood Master Cylinder Recall

mine was involved in recall...called them, they gave me a UPS shipping slip...turn around is 2-3 business days...was notified Friday that the master cylinder is on the way back thru UPS and it did not cost me a dime...they were not forced to recall...yet...so far they are doing it on their own
