1968 base C10 front end color questions
Hello. I am new. So forgive me if I posted this in the wrong place. Here's my question. What was the factory front end colors for base model 1968 C10s? My grille, grille inserts, and headlight bezels are all silver. And appear to never have been repainted. The bumper however has been repainted. It is silver with the lip on top painted black. I know the black definitely isn't factory. What I really want to know is a silver bumper factory or should it be white? Any help would be appreciated.

Re: 1968 base C10 front end color questions
I believe that the bumper and grill would have both been silver.

Re: 1968 base C10 front end color questions
I’d say silver, but it looks like the roof is white. Generally the grille and roof were the same color on two tone trucks. Single color trucks got a silver front or body color front with aluminum hoops and headlight buckets.
You may get more responses on the main section of the board.

Re: 1968 base C10 front end color questions
I think there were a number of combinations in '68. White, silver, and body color noses with and without the dividing trim were available. If the nose wasn't body color, then the bumpers matched the nose. I would have to agree with what clay68c10 said about the nose and roof matching for two tone trucks, however, for single color trucks I know they did have silver and white noses. I know because my truck is an original single color '68 with a white nose.

Re: 1968 base C10 front end color questions
Thanks for the replies guys. Sorry for my late reply. Haven’t been on here in a long time. Been busy. I may repost on the general forum. I believe I’m going to repaint them both flat white though and rough it up a bit to match the rest of the truck.
