Removing steering column

Trying to remove the steering column, have all bolts out. How does the column detach from the steering shaft on a 1968 C10. Been trying to pull it out, but something is keeping it from detaching.

67-8 steering shafts like pictured are one piece from the steering wheel to the steering gear box
Unbolt lower end from steering box rag joint and remove,
