Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

If your door won’t shut, remove the seal and use a block of wood and a mallet to bend the pinch weld in slightly. Reinstall seals. Done. Two of my trucks had no issues with the seals, one had to have the pinch weld “adjusted”. This goes for any seal, not just push ons.

I also got a set back in March. They were too tight when I first put them on but I adjust the doors a little and after a couple months of baking in the summer heat they're pretty good now.

Adjusting the doors will help the doors close but do not help body lines though.

Fine. Installed no issues. Is there a reason? Remove old. Glue new on. Not overly difficult. Same style as what I pulled off.

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

Very interesting thread. I put the glue on seals in my truck and have been slamming the doors from the outside for years. I found that if I open the window slightly from the inside the doors shut pretty reasonable.
I think the 69-70 model without the vent in the door frame make them a little more air tight than say the 71-72

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

interesting thread... I was looking at purchasing a set of door seals from classicparts but now I'm thinking about going with the Honda Civic's. I don't want to be dealing with slamming my doors nor trying to adjust the hinges and what not...

There is no guarantee that you won't have to slam your doors or move the striker plate out no matter which seals you get. Every truck is different so what works for another guy may not work for you, without modifications.....

how have these held up? I'm thinking of ordering. Did you have to modify your doors?

Re: OMG Honda door weatherstripping fits perfect no cutting required !!

Zane picked up a set from pick and pull for less than $15. 2 minutes to install. They fit perfectly. Door closes as it is supposed to close. No amount of adjusting was going to make the crappy glue on seals work.

Fantastic find by OP. Thanks.
