I found a baby pigeon

Well everyone knows their out there but, no one sees them.

I sold my 72 back on 10/31/19 and then sold the 99 Silverado shortly after.
I’d bought a ford work van and was content driving that and frankly I liked the idea of minimalism that I achieved, until I wreck it. I bought it because it was lower mileage, pretty straight and clean extended van. Now I’m glad that I didn’t put advertising signage on it. So the newly acquired aesthetics have been a bit of a mind warp for me. I’m slowly dealing with the wrinkles in the side and the bent bumper and rear portion of the vehicle. It still functions as a work van but I decided it would not be my daily driver when not working.
My new quest would be to find a lower mileage, rust free 99-07 classic Chevy.
I’ve grown fond of that style.
With lots of hunting I found my baby pigeon. One caveat, it’s a GMC Sierra...
Man, I like this truck a lot.

Re: I found a baby pigeon

It looks like it's been well taken care of. I've been driving GMCs for a lot of years now. I currently drive the 06 Sierra crew cab, 4wd with 5.3. I like it a lot.

That's a good looking truck. Don't use the cruise control on ice.

Re: I found a baby pigeon

It’s a 07 with a little less than 92000 miles. Has a nice rumble. The inside is pretty much like my wife’s 03 suburban. Super clean interior.
I didn’t tell my wife I bought it until I needed to pick it up. If she’s mad at me she didn’t clue me in so, I’m good for now.

Have you ever seen a baby pigeon? You know they are out there.
I checked a few dealerships and they acted like what I was looking for wasn’t realistic. Like I was wanting a unicorn.
Low mileage no rust.
Seems like all the 99-07s around here are high mileage, rusted brake lines, shot rockers and cab corners.

Yeap, that describes the Z71 I just took to auction. It had almost 350,000 miles, but was still running.

That's a beautiful truck. My favorite color too. I'm a sucker for black vehicles. I would be proud to roll in it. No pun intended.

Re: I found a baby pigeon

You not only found a low mileage clean body truck, you found it in the latest year. I think this truck will help you like your work van better, being just for work. All you need now is a bumper sticker for the van "My other vehicle is a baby pigeon"

No, it would have to say "My Other Vehicle Is A Squab".

Somehow that just doesn't sound right though....

Looks great, the GMC has a more attractive front end than the slant eye Chevy in my opinion. The GMT 800 is a great truck.
Arkansas rust! Ha! try looking around eastern Ne...

I had a 67-72chevytrucks.com sticker on the back glass of a truck once but, I typically don’t do bumper stickers and your suggestion doesn’t make me want one.

I’m not up on the culinarily lingo, so I would’ve never looked for that bumper sticker.

I wish I was.

I was about...Say about 22 years old. Drinking shots with this cute gal at a bar and we went "outside". That's the last thing I remember.

I woke up in the bushes with no wallet. I remember that it was a long walk home. I had taken a cab and this was in the pre-cellphone days. I had to walk.

Worst part is I had to walk right past my mom's house. If she had seen me it would have been a lot worse.

I don't know if her name was Lola. I don't think I got that far. It's all a little fuzzy.

Re: I found a baby pigeon

Nice choice. Is it a 5.3 or 6.0? These model / years are nearly bullet proof. I have 3 in service now. My daily is a black 05 GMC , but a single cab short bed with a 4.3. I had searched high and low for months for a low mile clean truck, I would have preferred the 5.3 but I caved in when I looked at this one. With 74k miles and only $5k out the door it was mine that day. Its up to 125k miles now and no issues ever. My wife drives an 03 Tahoe, that one had stoopid low miles when I scooped it up nearly 3 years ago.... 51k verified miles. The elderly couple bought it new to tow their camper. It cost more than I wanted to spend but I figured I found a baby pigeon so I forked over the $8k. It has 102k miles now. This one needed a fuel pump recently. One of my sons drives one of my old work trucks, an 03 rcsb silverado with 4.3, its up to 300k miles now.

It has the 5.3.
You Texas guys have some nice deals down your way. When I started my quest I had Dallas, OK City and Tulsa in my Craigslist rotation. I had found a 95 Silverado that was just north of Dallas, low mileage and sooo clean. Decent price too. I’ve been busy with work or I would’ve made the 6 hour drive down about a month ago.

I’m with Fleetsidepaul, I like the black vehicles. I’m partial to dark charcoal trucks too.

They're like a nice looking woman. They look good. But they can be a real pain.
