Old gas gauge and new sending unit not in sync
I replaced the fuel tank from behind the seat with one under the bed, the new sending unit will not work with the existing gauge. I believe it has something to do with the resistance of the new sending unit. Does anyone know how to regulate the amount of resistance. I know the resistance of the old sending unit is 90ohms the new one appears to be up to 2000ohms. Does this sound right? I believe that a capacitor can be used to reduce the ohms to 90 but how do you select the right one.

You will need to find the correct sending unit. Don't even think about using a capacitor in your fuel gauge circuit. Caps build and hold a charge and could potentially cause a disaster. What fuel tank setup are you using? Is it a Blazer/Jimmy tank?

Yes, I bought the poly tank kit and the sending unit from the same place. Were do I find the correct sending unit to fit that tank?

Check with the vendors associated with this board. I personally have not done this mod., still have the old "behind the seat" smelly slosher.

You would probably want a resistor instead of a capacitor
