I just love the details. Did you just wash under the hood or respray it?

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Well it seems I caused myself more work. I went to move the truck the Sunday night and found the dash lights not working. I dug into it last night figuring it was just a ground. After checking all the grounds I also noticed no parking lights, running lights or break lights not working. It really surprised me because I have been driving it and didn't notice it. Come to find out when I installed my new door sill I screwed through the wire for the dome light and grounded it out and blew a fuse. Now I stripped a screw and have to find a new one at Fastenal. Two steps forward one back.

I used Westley's Bleche White and an old brush from a carwash; ya know where the foamy soap comes out and you have to manually brush? I did not take it to the carwash. I used to own a carwash and I kept the brush when I sold it. That brush is one of the best brushes I have; soft enough where it doesn't scratch the paint, but enough stiffness where if you need a little "oomph", it'll cut thru it.

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

it takes a lot of research to build one of these ,my second in 30 years ,a lot more options in parts you just have ti take time and match up parts ,there are too many variables to answer that

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Today I blacked out the custom grille to better hide Ole Blu's missing tooth as you can see in the before picture. Also I removed the bug screen the previous owner had on there and installed the hood emblems. At first I had just removed the billet grille, but I didn't like the emptiness. So I sandblasted the chrome off and painted it black. There was too much chrome anyway, and I was never really happy with the way it looked. I'm happy with the way it looks now. Still working on the bed. I'm finally done sanding now. I just need the rain to stop so I can stain and seal it.

Scrounged these things from the jy for the k20 not bad for A Couple of dollars.
of course a lil' clean up is necessary.

Still need 2 frame brackets that won't be easy to get off.

Thumbs up Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

THANK YOU ALL for the wonderful pictures ! .

They keep me motivated even though my truck is just sitting in my driveway inoperable and I have the bed full of parts as it's blocking one of my daily work spaces....

I walk past it multiple times a day and curse the body shop but I do have a plan , a long and slow one but I want to drive it again so badly.....

I look at everyones hard works and dream of clattering and wheezing down the road again with a load on and my elbow out the driver's side window .

I see one removed the stepside bed and installed a fleetside ~ I cannot imagine this but I'm a Farm Boy who loves and needs those steps for work / loading =8-) .

Re: What did you do to your truck today? Chapter II

Today I put the new fuel line from the pump to the carb on and when I was tightening the line at the pump, I apparently over tightened it and the pump started leaking. So I also installed a new fuel pump. I guess I don't know my own strength. Hey Rocky, watch me pull a rabbit out of my hat!...

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Ill get to that part later on... Probably get a different radiator and if I have to I'll move the fill to give the clearance needed
