Re: 1949-50 3100
Hi dwcsr, what is the best way to mount the fender without scratching paint?
First the inner fender en then fender? Or inner fender and fender together? Gr Richard |

Re: 1949-50 3100
I do inner first then outer. Put the inner on with two bolts on each end leaving them very loose , just in a few threads, so you can move the inner around a bit when you maneuver the outer over it.

Re: 1949-50 3100
What a fine looking truck!! That's a tough choice, they both look great, but I'm liking the chrome as well.

Re: 1949-50 3100
with those rims, I hate to say I like the black better. honestly I wouldn't trust an aftermarket chrome grille here in PA. Maybe texas.

Re: 1949-50 3100
I think with the wheel choice pictured, chrome and black for the grill is the best.

Thanks for the input. We are using the chrome bars with a semi gloss black for the back support piece.

Re: 1949-50 3100
Awesome truck but I'm totally not sold on the wheels. They look to modern and sharp for the smooth and contoured edges of the truck. Some Coy C5's would be more suitable if you're looking for a 5 spoke.
Im not trying to be an asshole, it's just my honest opinion. |

Re: 1949-50 3100
nice work, pics never do paint or all the hard work justice. The filler neck, is that a custom piece? I couldn't believe how much filler tubes are. I found one from a seedoo that worked great and was not much money.

Re: 1949-50 3100
The filler tube we made and it fills through the fender. As for the wheels we wanted it to have an edge to it. The coys to me look to rounded, like someone forgot their soda bottles on a rim. That and seeing every camaro and mustang around here have them on we wanted something different. Once the visor is on it will change the look.

Re: 1949-50 3100
Here is the engine, it needs the wiring cleaned up and routed also a picture of the door panel. I have to fix the stainless trim to meet the panel. The inserts for some reason show up as gray but the are more brown gray than gray. I think its my camera because the truck now looks orangish and its red as red can be.
