I basically run an internet salvage yard. I sell most of my stuff on my website Ebay, but I have sold a few things here on the board. I specialize in '64 - '72 mainly, but I do sell newer (or older) stuff and trucks when I get them. I am building my '67 C-30 to pull my car trailor when I go a few hundred miles or so to get cars and trucks. I'm using my 2000 Z71 now, and it does OK, but the '67 with the newer running gear and Turbo Diesel that I am putting in it will handle, brake, pull better, and best of all, get better gas mileage, than the 1/2 ton Z71. I am putting the disc brakes and low mileage 14 bolt rearend under the '67. I am trying to find a auxillary OD or a 5 or 6 speed manual transmissiojn out a newer 3/4 or 1 ton truck. Either that, or I might leave the old Tuff as Nails SM-420 in it, and bite the bullit and a get a Gear Venders OD for it.
I hope by the end of the summer to have the '67 C-30 and '67 C-50 painted (black or course!) to match my '69 C-30 and my Z71.

Here is a picture of a valued customer's truck. 454 F.I., super clean inside and out. Just here for a little bit of mechanical work so that it can be sold.

I'm thinking of using SS wheel simulators, has anyone bought from this guy, he's sold a bunch of them.

Hey 67_C-30:
The caps and rings above is what I was planning on running on my '68 with a '92 chassis. The only problem I have now is that I have to run different rims on the back as I changed the rear end to one out of a '85 E-350 to give me more width and a better gear ratio and the chev rims won't fit over the hub. What do you think I should use now, would caps and rings on the front look OK with full simulators on the back? I dunno, any and all help from everyone would be appreciated. |

I found this on ebay. The owner says it's a C-50 but it looks like a C-30 to me. What do you guys think? Also says it has a 4spd.& 2 speed? I've never seen a Chevy this small with a 2 spd. Gotta love those funky cat eye turn signals!

Sorry for the delay in response. I bought 28 cars, and right in the middle of moving them the old 396 in my car hauler lost oil pressure and started knocking, so I have been scrambling around buying parts and having machine work done on a new engine. I just haven't had time to come to the board! As far as the wheels, you should still be OK. The rearend in my car hauler is a Dana 70 from a F350, and rear rims are Ford rims. The trim rings popped right on them with no modification. As long as you have Metric studs put in the them, and run the threaded lugnuts, the center should fit fine also. This problem with my Car Hauler has definitely temporarily ceased progress on my '67, but I have to take of the one that makes me money!! I should have starting making plans to to replace the 396 a long time ago, and even though it had gobs on miles on it, it still ran great and good power. I'm just glad it it didn't throw a rod and ruin the block and/or heads.

Thanks. I have several different rearends around, and that will help me choose which one I am going to use. I have a (3) 14 bolts, and (2) Dana 70's. One of the 14 bolts and one of Danas measure around 54" so I will probably decide which based off gear ratio.

The Canadian built GMC's went by 910, 920 and 930, versus 1500,2500 & 3500 like the US counterparts did. Originally my truck was a 910 and I was going to simply use them and hope for the best but thanks to longhorn71 for one and my uncle for the other I finally found a set. They are really hard to find as you can imagine, especially for a decent one. The picture below is actually a pic of one in a salvage yard that I did not purchase yet, I still might but they want a pretty hefty dollar figure for them. There was a thread a while ago about all the differences but I don't have the link right now, also 67_C-30 PM'ed me about a pic of some 910-930 emblems.

well i learned something there i did not know! thanks 68gmcdually....i wonder why they went to so much trouble to make it known that is a canadian truck? what difference does it even make in the long run?......it does make for good conversation though.... i'd keep them too. got to be rare.

I looked for them simply for a conversation piece. They are really hard to find, you know that GMC was rarer to start with now take it down to a Canadian built GMC one ton, I even know where there is a 950 emblem, not for sale of course though.

Here is my new 1 Ton I just picked up today. It has a new 454 FI with T400 trans, dual exhaust with flowmaster mufflers. New paint and good body with no rust or dents/dings. All new leather interior, carpet, headliner, door panels and visors. Drove it home around 300 miles and it rode better than my 2000 Tahoe.
And yes, I bought this off ebay!

Here a few more pics of old 1 ton workhorses I found.
I just got the brand new engine put in my '69 Car Hauler, so maybe now I'll have time to come back and post regularly again after I get caught back up around here. I replaced the 396 BB that was in it with a 383 SB stroker. I will post pics as soon as get some. As much as liked the the old 396, this 383 is brute. I have built several of these, but always for race engines. This is the first 383 truck engine I've built, and this thing is strong! It has much more power than the 396 did, and is already seeming to be much better on gas also. I am surprised by how much more low end torque it has. I can't wait for it to get fully broken in. If anyone is thinking of building a 383 for your truck, I highly recommend it. If anybody wants the specs, I'll be glad to email them to you. The only complaint I have is that it doesn't sound as good the 396 did. I miss that low, deep exhaust note that a BBC makes under a load, but if that's all I have to give up, I'll take it.

ebay 60,000 miles 72 C-30
Clean! I would like to have it.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...547328179&rd=1 You are bidding on a 1972 Chevy Custom 30, 3/4 ton flat bed truck. This truck has the 292 engine with 60, 000 miles. It is in very good running condition and would be a great hauling truck or whatever need you may have. The flat bed was custom made a few years ago and is made of steel and is in excellent shape. Email me with any questions or if you want to see other pictures. I will accept Paypal, check (10 days to clear), money order, or cash. Buyer is responsible for pickup or shipping.

My 1986 GMC 1-Ton 4x4 C&C (soon to be redone and made into a dump truck)
This was a $500 truck I bought from a friend of mine. It left my posession and went to my brother in law who did some work to it and used it for a couple of years plowing snow. He bought new trucks, so he gave this one back to me.
It has been converted to a 87 TBI 350, and the rack body does have a dump hoist, but I want to put a dump body on it. It isnt is great shape, but it isnt bad either. After I am done ( and that might be years from now) it will be all black ( currently dark green) and have chrome simulators or true Budd wheels.
