There's a thread and maybe an article on the diesel page about the 6.2l precups. There are several different designs for the 6.2. If I recall correctly the earlier engines were slanted more toward fuel economy than the later ones.

The 6.5 I'm using, after a head swap and some other tricks, will get close to 30 MPG. I loved my 6.2 though. I was getting close to 35MPG combined.

Yep it's a factory Silverado 1/2 ton 5 lug 2wd short wheel base truck. Even has a/c and cruise control(doesn't work though like all of them don't lol). I love the little truck but I might be selling it soon. Maybe just maybe. If I do sell it, it'll go just like it sits with the wheels and the drop on it

Hey Stitch - you still want that TH400? I'll be down in Myrtle Beach next week and can bring it along. While I'm there we can each hook a chain on the hitch of our respective Duramaxes and play a little tug o war!!! My 6 little stock tires vs. your swamp boggers!

If you can bring it by my house then bring it. I'm going to charleston next weekend for a reunion of sorts. And I'll take that challenge on the tug of war as long as it's on dirt lol. And you don't mind me covering your new dmax with dirt

I'm actually gonna be home this weekend. I could come meet you somewhere probably. Where were you thinking about meeting up at?

Oh yeah and you failed to reply to the dirt comment. Must still be too new to get dirty lol. I like the truck man. If I had gotten a dually instead it would have looked like that. Love that color wish mine wasn't white like a work truck lol

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

Big updates coming really soon...I just bought a new shop a couple of months ago...I need to get the junk cleaned out of it...once I do that, the truck is going in there and getting a frame off, 6.0/4l80e combo, porterbuilt treatment front and rear in the way of coilovers on all four corners and trailing arms in the rear, sfbd, one piece windows, flush fit rear glass, sport bumper in the rear...and a full out custom street rod interior...I'm gonna be selling the Coys when I get my new wheels all lined up...I'm modifying an already sweet wheel to make it sweeter ...and the patina paint is definitely staying...besides that most everything is getting changed...I will be fixing the little bit of rust through I have on the truck and blending the patina into it...

I've wanted to do this truck like this for a while...I know I've gone back and forth, back and forth, but I decided with the help of my wife that I wasn't gonna be happy until it was done like I want it done......gotta love the wife for talking me into spending money...lol

Re: Streetrod Farm Truck build..."the Diesel"

Updates are as follows lol. I am building this truck for a show piece for my business. Being the fact that everyone seems to think that I should paint it I'm gonna paint it. Well sorta. I love this truck just the way it is. Sooooo....

I'm gonna buy another truck and do a frame off on it and build it too quality for my show piece. The little blue and white truck is staying the same. I'm not touching the patina or the wheels or anything. I'm gonna raise it a little in the front, remove the inner fenders, notch the rear, and do the interior back factory and then I'm gonna drive the piss outta it lol.

The new truck on the other hand is getting everything I was gonna do to this one.

My buddy Joseph is doing a rendering for me on the new one now. And a rendering on the old one lol
