Right now it's just tacked together while figuring out all the issues... like those pesky u-bolt nuts. That's where I learned don't go more than 1.5" on the c-member notch. I'm prehistoric when it comes to pics....

This sounded good in my head, but may be stupid:

Could you not go to a crossover steering set-up to help with some of the clearence issues. As well as angle differences. It would be similar to the ones used in four wheeling, but you would custom bend the draglink to clear.

The problem with a crossover style steering for this application is lack of space. It would work fine when aired up, but you would have major clearence issues when lowered.

The best solution is to convert to a T-bird style (not M II) power rack & pinion set up...
