Well, the combustion leak test confirms I have either a cracked head or gasket problem. The liquid went from blue to yellow.

That explains the foam and the disappearing coolant. As much as it sucks at least you found the problem

Yep! Not knowing was driving me crazy! I called Blueprint Engines and submitted a claim. Since I installed the motor they will not pay labor charges but they will cover the parts. They requested I send photos of the engine heat tabs to prove I didn't overheat it. Now I have to remove the heads and check for warpage. If straight they go for pressure testing. They will reimburse my cost and send new heads.

I would push really hard to get them to send another engine. Its bs for them to just send heads and expect you to install them.

I've had time to think about it and totally agree with you. No reason why I should be the one chasing down the defect. I'm going to request they send a new engine and I'll ship this back in the same crate and see what they say.

As of today the truck is up and running. Couldn't get BP to send another motor. They started quoting the warranty, blah blah blah. Rather then get into a long drawn out fight I agreed to fix my current motor.
They had me pull the heads and send them to a machine shop to be checked. They will reimburse the cost. Heads checked out good so I reinstalled them using the new gaskets they sent me. I decided to leave the thermostat out until I knew the problem was fixed. Once I got it running I set the timing and let it idle till it warmed up. Checked the radiator..no bubbles. Took it out for a short drive then pulled over to checked the pressure in the radiator. It was normal. The problem appears to be fixed. I just need to fix a leaky collector gasket and it will be all good again. BP sent UPS to my home to pickup the old head gaskets. They said they want to measure them to ensure they had the right crush. Whatever..I'm just glad my truck is up and running again.

I spoke too soon! After swapping head gaskets the problem still exists. BP wants me to pull the motor and call them when it's out. They will have a shipping company come pick it up. The motor will be torn down and inspected. They say it could take a week for it to hit inspection then another week before I hear the results. In the end I get a new motor but not until inspection is complete.

What a bummer! With a crate motor you would think you wouldnt have these kind of problems....I bet your wishin you would have finished the bbc instead...I hope it all works out for you!

I have still yet to pull the motor. Everything forward of the water pump has been removed along with the distributor and wires. Need to pull the headers and unbolt it from the tranny. After that I'll need help to pull off the hood and lift out the motor. Now that everything is painted I can't risk doing it alone.
