The door edge gaurds are a factory option but i am not sure if I am going to install new ones. Any recomendations? Just trying to keep the options sheet "real".

Nice Paint Job.

Recreate the factory strip IMO. That would really dress it up. (Mine has it too!)

stock options

Is that a stock cheyenne model truck without either of the side trims frothe facto (as I read option sticker)? I had always believed that cheyennes had the woodgrain lower trim with upper trim as option and this was mentioned on option sheet. Maybe this truck had them and holes were filled. Just trying to keep up on ways these trucks came from GM!! Does the rear also have leaf springs? I have a theory about chevys that when it was ordered from factory with wood bedfloor they had rear leafs?

This truck did come with lower molding (no upper, just the pen striping). I had the holes filed and If i decide to put them back on I will use come aheasive istead of the screws. I have an entire set of new moldings. I cant decide If I want them back on or not. As for the rear... I have coils.

Stunning! I love the color and the truck is very clean.

As a side note, does anyone know if orange shows imperfections real well. Is it more like black or more like white? Don't want anyone to notice the door dings that we sometimes get or the minor flaws in the body work.

That truck is definitely a head turner.

Did make the wood for the bed?

I am considering making my wood, any help with this or the installation will help. I got some pretty good info from GMC Pauls web site on the dimensions for cutting the wood etc. Man that looks fantastic, I love the color.

I used red oak for the bed from my local lumber hard. Very good quality although it was a pain to cut, plain, sand and varnish, cut holes etc.... the wood cost close to 250. I had to install it and then drill the holes and then after it was painted it was a pain to line up the holes and some had to be re-drilled. I am very satisfied with the product but I wonder how easy the pre-cut packages would have been. They are heat treated and may last longer. The wod i bought was not totally dry and there are several small cracks that I may have to replace. I used a light oak stain, then used a marine varinsh with about 5 coats.
