Re: 1956 Cameo Barn find, 1 mile on the odometer

If you go to the auction main site and click on the auctions, there is a photo gallery. It is being advertised as a barn find auction, but the majority of the 500, as stated in the sons story about dad, were just driven out to the farm and parked for 30-50 years. There are photos of lines of them sitting where the trees grew up around them. I assume Nebraska gets its fair share of snow and rain so you are correct, a close inspection would be advised. If the others have truly been out of the light, the acrylic laquers and enamels of the eras can be brought back. If the UV has gotten to them its a no go usually.

A lot of the cars that they stashed out on the farm are the kind that dealers automatically wholesale or send to auction now. Being as it is a farm community a lot of those cars probably got used pretty hard too.

I hope that the guys who do go take plenty of photos and give us full reports on how it went.

71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.

Yeah and since it looks like the bed wood is messed up, rust spots underside, dented roof so who knows for sure. Likely they all had a mouse infestation as well. That will stink out and ruin stuff quick.
