Re: Unique trucks...
I was thinking of this as a 67-72 thread, but this is General Disco. That widens the possibilities here. how about a dodge. Caption called it a Chevy. After all that and it looks like visibility not so good on that right side

Re: Unique trucks...
The cab on that truck looks like an airplane nose with all the glass and metal shaped like that. It would fly like a brick, though, methinks.

Re: Unique trucks...
I saw one yesterday on my way to work, he was sitting at a red light and I was moving so I couldn't get a picture. But it was NEAT.
1948-50 Ford dually on a stretched frame. It had a sleeper and flatbed with a small fifth wheel and was pulling a fifth wheel camper. It was yellow and looked like it was loved and well used. If it was ever a show truck it was a long long time ago. Just the fact that it was still on the road doing what it was built for was what was so cool about it. If I hadn't been going to work I would have made a U-turn to try to get pics. Hopefully I'll see it again. Yeah I geeked out a little over it. |

Re: Unique trucks...
Sounds interesting. That reminds me of a friend's GMC rat rod thing (bought/not built). I need to get pictures, or retrieve what's on my old computer.
How about this Nash bodied thing?

Re: Unique trucks...
Those guys could have been brothers. Same concept.
The distinct front end and yellow paint with the sleeper and flatbed looked like it was well built when originally done, but you know how that goes. It might not have survived close inspection. Pic for reference, it's the right cab and color. Unique for sure. Last edited by 68Timber; 02-11-2020 at 01:51 PM. |

I actually sort of like it, I've thought since I built mine that about a 10' bed would be perfect on the big pickup conversions. An 8 footer on a medium duty is like a SWB regular truck. |

Re: Unique trucks...
That's about all that little engined car would be able to pull. I remember the first time I saw a Nash Metropolitan, and that 5/8" diameter tail pipe was just a joke.

Re: Unique trucks...
Well, you don't want to be having kids bouncing off the back of that thing, so I guess slow is good. The fire can wait.
Another tall car carrier. I guess for some reason they felt hauling cars required seeing farther ahead. I doubt many traffic cops felt like ticketing those guys. "I'm not climbing all the way up there to hand out a ticket after eating those donuts" How about that Plain Jane T-bird on the tail end?

A whole lot full!
Here's a CJ17. Check out the front bumper. That's not a factory Jeep bumper

Re: Unique trucks...
It does have a very nice arch top door.
The important thing is having enough room. How about this F - O - R - D?

Yeah. One of those and an Airstream Trailer. Looks just like an Econoline except much wider. A whole lot of work in that thing.

I guess it's not a good idea to take your wiener out when it's snowing. Or at least be very careful to keep it under control. I like the '52. The first one didn't come with a good bun
