We have absolutly no idea of what coast would be at this time. What we may do is offer the DVD's in stages of repair work. From panel replacment to frame off resto work and this way if all you want is one DVD out of the set you may be able to get it that way. This is all off the cuff right now and we will know better as things start being recorded and eddited. What I want to make sure of is that any thing my company produces is top notch and no corners were cut to get it to all of you. I do not do this for a living or do I plan to. I am just a major car nut and this is a good way I can justify my sickness and help get the drugs to others like my self.

What I would be able to retire on is if I can fugure out a way to do a "How to Wife video" so they all turned out like mine. When I told mine a few days ago I wanted to go on a last minute road trip to pick up a 2wd blazer (keep in mind I have a shop full of projects and a house that was built in 1928 and needs to be rebuilt as well) and her responce was "drive safe with the trailer it has been raining" and call me when you are heading home!

Put me down (or my wife down?) for a How to Wife Video!

You could probably even market that beyond 67-72.com!

To be honest with you once I get started on it they will all be ready about the same time. The repair work will go quick for the entire project but the cutting and added sound bights to the DVD will take the most time. I will not turn out a half way done DVD.

Also I picked up a newer rust product yesterday that I will be trying out and if things work like they are suposed to I will have a link and contact info on this product with the DVD's. It is a rust converter that is water based and non toxic un like the por15. Should be great for shooting up into the windshield posts and rocker boxes and so on.

Ya, I'd say thats a worthy candidate for repair Kevin. Keep us updated on the progress of the rebuild. I for one would love a DVD set that showed me how you weld. Mine still look like I was using a soldering iron. Jeff.

Re: rust repair for blazers!

I really like your idea of the video's. And i would gladly purchase any you put out on the K5's. One question though...i am not a body man so i'm sure some of the procedures are text book other than it involves a blazer...but all i own are 73 up K5's...and the 79 i aquired is a factory 2wd with a big rust problem...so are the two body styles similiar enough to help me with the 79 and 76 i have? Up until i saw this post i was just going to go by the local scrap metal yard until they had a rusty k5 in the heap and drag it home. Then i planned to use a period parts manual showing the exploded view of how they go together and start cutting panels off with a spot weld cutter until i reduced the body to a pile of proper but rusty parts so i would understand the process used by gm to make a tub out of many pieces....and i wanted a body dolly or such to work on the body seperatly....but it will be the end of the year before i can do anything as we just bought 5 acres and the house/garage plans are being drawn up so it'll be just a bit before i have anywhere to tinker.

After thought but along the same lines...when i do the 79 up i wanted to use the process and learn how to lets say graft or install a 87 up firewall so i have an ecm bucket...and an 89 up dash so i have the large radio hole...can this be done?

How is that video coming along? Will we see it any time soon?
By the looks of the responses, you could stand to make some serious coin and help alot of us out at the same time.

Re: rust repair for blazers!

It is in the works, some of the footage is shot but I have been over welmed with work latley. The main hold up is that this idea and blazer came along after I had already commited to a few customer builds so now it has to wait its turn. But it will happen trust me, I already have way to much in camera equipment to turn back plus I want my blazer done as well

How about you cut off and weld on a new windshield frame while you are at it? Show me what it takes...

Count me in on a DVD.

Re: rust repair for blazers!

It is still moving forward but slow with all the paying customers in the shop right now. I will not turn out a half way done DVD just to make a buck! I have seen some in the past and just can not do that, so when it is finished it will be well worth the wait. I will be showing every posible senerio including a windshield frame replacement/graft.

Depends on how bad it is to start with. If you only have small holes you may be able to patch them and at teh same time inject some anti rust products to stop any further rust. If it is real bad you will need to decapitate your Blazer and try and find a new old frame to replace it with.
