looks like the dimension from the firewall to the middle of the hole for the rubber grommet mount is 1 3/8". bracket over all is 2 1/2" wide, from firewall and looks like 2 3/8 wide across the bracket.sorry, didn't get the dimension from the bend to the centerline of the 2 small holes. let me know if you really need that and I can dig that box out again.

That does look more like 1-3/8" to me too (obviously). I'd go with that. Thanks, DS...

I've already scratched the heck out of the paint in firewall by putting it up and down around 10 times. :P
you could buy a small hose (clear or otherwise) maybe 1/8" ID and split it, then slide it over the inner fender that would rub up against the firewall
