If you cut the nuts off, and you flip the brackets it will bolt up but its still not the same.
Thank you Randy, I realize that. I hope to find the correct bracket for a center mount. If I do, I can sell or trade this one, so I won’t have to modify these brackets. I might just have a couple brackets fabricated to match the center mount style.

Do you have a set to sell or one that can be used for dimensions and reference?!

Center brackets are much shorter above the speaker, have rounded ends and do not hang as much below the speaker.
Everybody thinks the brackets interchange and thinks the speakers are installed perpendicular to the floor so its visible too.

Just trying to help you out, i believe ive seen that your fixing up a nice rig there and figured you would like to know.

Thank you Randy! This is perfect. I’ll use this for reference to have a set fabricated.

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker

I dont have a speaker, i wonder if yiu could borrow one for a template, the brackets would be pretty easy to make, one problem is the metal ii think is sheared to width, not standard flat stock.

Found a great pic of how the center speaker looks when mounted properly on brackets that haven't been bent.

Mounted as shown the screws are easy to install, not so much with the commonly bent brackets.

Thanks for all the good info on these speakers Randy. When you say early years for the welded nuts is that 69-70? There is so much to learn on these trucks.

Here’s a related thread: http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=522444

Wouldn’t the early style work if nuts ground off and brackets slipped between the dash and the AC/heater control?

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker

2 responses in the thread posted by deadhead have members saying their 71 had the offset speaker.
I think the left mounted speakers are 69-70 and i believe the location moved for gas pedal clearance, 71-2 have the gas pedal cable linkage under the dash and if it has ac the pedal has an extra support for the LH ac vent hose, space became tight in that area with the change in gas pedal so the speaker was moved to the center.

Here are 2 more pics of 72 center mounted on brackets that are not bent, note on both the screw heads are hex instead of Phillips.

Re: WTB original Blazer Speaker

Good morning and Happy New Year !

OK guys, thank you for your guidance. I just posted a request for dimensions of the bracket or for someone to loan me theirs to be used as a pattern. Hopefully someone will loan me theirs. That will probably be more fool proof (just not sure if someone will want to send me their bracket ).
