Here's my latest.....inherited from my mom...this was my step-dad's truck....he's was killed in the windstorms here in Wa back in Dec.
He loved this truck.....I plan on taking very good care of it!
He always wanted the truck to be as if Chevy had built an SS in '78, kinda like an LS-6 Chevelle, so it's got the '70 SS454 emblems, stripes, etc.....

It's been through a few engines, currently has a 396, but I'll be swapping in my 454 from my last truck in a week or so....

Also, I will be picking up an '85 SWB 2wd next week.....a project I plan to build up for my wife.

what are the specs on the drop?
nice truck btw

Not sure...lower than my old truck (3-5)...I'm 'guessing' @ 5-6 drop????
I think it's got 2" spindles and 3" drop springs......

Can you really drive the truck that low? Or is that just for show?

Re: How about some pictures of '73-'87 short beds

Thanks! So the pearl is in the base.....Your truck looks darker than mine.....I really dig it though!
My truck is a 1993 fleet orange (tangerine I think) in Chromabase, then a few coats of gold pearl infested clear, then straight clear.....
I noticed that there is some cracking in the paint on the roof, had a guy look at it for a repair, gonna be tricky getting the proper mix of pearl to match it...

My paint is a 3 stage:
White base (I think 3 coats so it was totally even)
Orange pearl (lots of it, 9 coats)
Clear (6 coats)

Yeah blending in on pearls and flakes is tough... It takes the right guy.. We have to fix my polishing boo boo on my hood before the guy comes to pick it up... My buddy is a friggin Pro when it comes to blending so I think it will be ok. Too bad he moved to Sequim: !! He's driving over Friday night on the ferry and we're gonna shoot it.
