Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

I have been following your thread and you truck is awesome. Great work. I have also been building an 85 cten for the past year and I am slowly piecing it together. I have a 4.8l built a bit with ported and polished heads big cam converted to ls1 intake and pacesetter long tubes with slightly built 4l60e with 3000 stall converter. I also bought the lokar shift cable linkage so I could keep my column shifter. I was wondering what you used for your shift linkage to make the 4l80e work? Pics would be great if possible. Heres a pic of my project.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Your truck looks killer. Any pics of how the headers fit? I used a Lokar linkage also, hooks to the trans in the same place/fashion as the 4l60E does.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

The headers did fit with alot of frame notching and had to notch a bit away from the plates that hold the engine mounts. I was wondering what angle you put the lokar cable part that connects to the column under the hood. Heres a pic of how I have it so far. If you can show a pic please. also a pic of my drivers side header notch and clearance.

Wow!
That's simple, I might need to make a run to the hardware store and see what I can come up with.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Looks great! Any idea if that setup would work for the 6L90s?

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Shi!! I bought the wrong one!!! Mine is the lokar 1804 column shift linkage driven by a wire but the angle it requires doesnt work that great. I think I might return mine and but what you have it looks much stronger then mine. What is the part number or where did you buy it? Heres a pic of what I bought.

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Just bought the same linkage set up you have!!! Lokar 1800!! Man I was having all kinds of trouble with the first one I bought and it was twice as much as the one you have that works way better!!! Thank you so much for pics! So did you have to bend the rod a bit?

Re: The 6.0 Silverado Build

Yep, Lokar ACT1800 or something like that. Dont know if it'll work on the 6l90 though? Didnt shorten mine but dont know if you will have to. Might depend on if you used the setback mounts or not.

Thanks Gerald. Things are still going just slower now. Needing to save some money for the exhaust, finish wiring, repin cluster, all things that are not fun to me. I HATE WIRING! Also need to set aside some loot for my newest addition! Something with a little more room for my little man!
