Everything fab'd for the most part is coming from WFO - they have the tooling & the talent for it. Keven's up to the task, he's just got to come up with a design that works for the look I'm after.

Sooo.....
Been thinking a lot about this whole "cover the intake plenum" plan. Am thinking that it may be just overall better to just go with an entirely new intake for better looks. Take a look at these options & let me know what you guys think of them. Not 100% sure any of these will work on my particular engine, but think it may be worth looking at! I am partial to the Holley version myself if I were to go this route... |

Yep, have looked at those as well. They're pretty nice, but to me just wouldn't offer enough improvement in the overall appearance to be worth - would still want some kind of cover, so it'd be pointless as the added power wouldn't be worth that cost...

Oh yes, and as I am now plowing down the hill side after running completely off of the cliff I am thinking about going with the "Emmons" door panels from Rod Doors rather than just re-covering the stockers... Think they're a little more modern looking & like the pocket for the door handle better than the huge one in the stock panel. Cover them to match the rest of the interior & it'd look sweet!!!

Yeah, that's definitely my choice as well - especially with the black billet fuel rails included with it!!! Checked it on Summit & it is for my 2008 LY6 - and less than $700.00 to boot!!!

I think the CFE looks bad ass (but rough), but the holley is cleaner and fits your clean build better...

I was gonna mention the mast covers but you already got them lol and to me they're just priced a bit over expensive as for the ram airs the holley looks too bare the cfe looks awesome, the edelbrock looks okay but I hate when companies plaster they're name all over stuff and if that's the pro flo xt I think it requires a special harness or something doesn't it? I may be wrong there though

Ok, so here's where I am at....
Mast Motorsports is telling me that they have tested the Holley intake that I am interested in on their motors. It makes more power after 6,000rpm, but losses some on the low end as a trade off... I can't be losing power down low with a hurking 1-ton crew cab... I called up Greg at ZZ Fabrication to see if maybe he could help out. Although fabricating an intake from scratch is realistically out of the price range I want to be in for this mod, he does feel like he can modify the Holley intake internal & on the throttle body flange to make this intake better suit my intended use & RPM range. He's going to get a hold of Holley to get all the specs so he knows what he needs to change & if it's indeed possible so maybe I'll have some news on that next week. I am totally in love with the look of the intake though & really want it - if it were a show only truck, I'd slap it on as-is, but as I plan to drive this truck a lot, I need to it to work well & look good... So here's the final proof of the air box cover from Consolidated Products. Looks like it's going to come out just like I envisioned it!!! Should work great with the new Mast Motorsports embossed aluminum valve covers we just ordered too!!!

Uh-oh... Looks like the migrating birds left a nest in my dashboard!!!
Keven's gotten a lot of the wiring ran, but he's holding off for now until my ididit column can make it in. Turns out that the Mast ECM won't allow me to have cruise control, so the column he had about to ship out needs to be changed for one without the cruise option... Oh well, I never use cruise anyway really. |

Looks as if they got the mounting worked out for my on-board air components & think it looks pretty nice & safely tucked away!
Not going to have air ride or anything like that, just want access to compressed air on the truck for a variety of uses down the road. They'll be ports at a couple of spots on the truck to connect to - they'll be out of site, but easy to get to. Plan is to have a switch to activate the compressor on my center console (matching the 2 other lighted switches for the front & rear LED lights) & then an air gauge will be mounted where my factory ash tray sits now so I just drop it down when I am using it to see my pressure! |

Here are some decent shots of some of the plumbing Keven has been able to get done this week. Not all of the billet clamps are in yet, so the look isn't quite all the way there yet...
Keep saying I gotta get that butt ugly brake master cylinder out of there, but it just keeps popping back up much to my dismay!!! They do have the new Wilwood set-up, but the lid got shipped off to the billet place to be anodized red so it'll be a bit before they get it back. I am not at all a fan of the red & blue anodized -AN fittings & shiny braided line so that's why you don't see any of that in here - to race car'ish for me.... |

Here's a little better shot of the donor Suburban doors I am supposed to be getting. Only issue the guy wants $750.00 for all four... They're not quite "cherry" & I have no need for his inner door panels, outer door handles or side mirrors. I think that's a little much just to get doors & power window components...

Nothing back yet on the fabrication of the hood hinges but if I don't hear something by early next week I plan to contact them & see when it's planned to get moving. Not in a real rush to have them per say, but also don't want to be held up by them down the road if I can help it...
Del never made it to the local place that deals with truck toolboxes so no movement there either... He said he'd see if he could make it by tonight, but being Friday I doubt anyone's gonna stay late for that! Need to get that in & mounted so the bed can be yanked back off & sent to Mario with some other stuff - always a delay... |

That does seam a lot for doors especially when there not new, maybe you can work something out where he keeps the door panels,handles, and the mirrors. You could even find out what he wants for the electric tracks and components, then you could put them in the doors you have. That's what im doing, my doors are good, then I have another set of electric doors that are starting to rust so im putting the electric guts in my good doors.
