I just flipped through all 235 pages of this thread while waiting for account activation. Just as I reached the end I received the activated email, so here goes my first post. Long time lurker, first time member and poster. All these nice pickups here, figure I'd post mine so we don't all forget how the nice ones start.

Glad to see I'm not the only one willing to post a pic of a rusty truck

What's your plans for it?

Here's a little sample of what I had in mind. I stole solrac8d7's photo from a few pages back and shopped on some wheels from Desert1957's. I'm not an artist, but I did my best to make the rears look deeper, like 15x10 or so. I'm figuring on 15x6 fronts. Will start a build thread when I actually get going. I hope nobody minds I borrowed photos from other people, if the originals are yours and you don't want me to use it I can remove this. Don't want to ruffle any feathers.

Nice, I like the stock wheels with stock caps, especially if the rears are widened. However, I really like your current wheels too... you just don't see that style much anymore.

You know I kind of like the current ones too. I like to think of them "period correct"! A good scrubbing and some new 3 bar spinner caps would do them good. I'm always on the lookout for some wide slots too.

LOL! No, it's just sitting in front of the trailer. I'm sure it will do good once I do the air bag set-up in the rear. With the big block it has the power to do it, but as it sits it's willing but not able.

Lol. I'm curious to know if our trucks are big enough to stop that type of weight on a daily drive

I'm sure that most any 1/2 ton short box 2WD should be able to pull a trailer with a car on it with stock suspension. It's when you lower them that they tend to have some trouble.

Yes I tow cars all the time with my stock 1/2 ton 2WD short bed. Does pull very well, I added a factory sway bar for a little more stability.
