Seriously, this Alumablast paint is great, it is almost like shooting only metallic particles.

The man in brown dropped by today and here are some of the results.

It says on the can up to 300 degrees F.

Last night I dove into the interior, since I had already taken all of the wiring off of both sides of the frame. Wow is all I can say! I have labeled every wire and plug with green tape and notes on where it went/what it was for. I will have to go through the entire harness and strip out what I don't need. Earlier I was thinking I might just leave it intact and zip tie it up under the dash, but I'm not sure now I would be able to hide it all. I have never worked on a wiring harness before, so I am really just flying by the seat of my pants on this one.

Just a quick FYI. This picture shows the bend in the frame (behind the shock) which totaled this truck. I had driven it for a while like this , but the engine would sometimes vibrate the firewall, and the passenger front tire would rub the rear of the fender on turns. Everything is shoved back about 1.5 inches on this side.

I am thinking I will pull all the wiring out with the motor and set the motor in the new frame and I might even try to rig up a battery and start the thing before I make any modifications to the harness. I have already pulled out the ignition cylinder and am able to plug it into my other truck's wiring block and start it with it, so I won't have to have the column sitting in the floor.

Actually this is the low profile Charles Cookies type air cleaner, a very rare model indeed. Be careful when searching for these type air cleaners, there is NO nos available (they all contained cookies or chips at one time in their life). Also another thing to be careful of is folks trying to pawn off a cut down Charles Chips air cleaner as the original low profile Charles Cookies type. It can be very daunting to try and find an original unmolested example such as this that I have installed here. Good luck.
