Re: How about some pics of 47-59

http://s845.photobucket.com/albums/a...t=DSC01627.jpg

The truck has a 350sbc, 700r4 trans, ten bolt 3:38 rear, HEI ignition, Vintage Air, Mustang II power steering, power disc brakes, elec windows, GPS, GPS speedometer, satellite radio, American Racing wheels 275r15x70 rear ww, 245r15x70 front ww, monte carlo front clip. I bought it out of St Louis in '09. The engine and the front clip was in it when I bought it. It needed to be cleaned up and I tweaked it to what I like. I installed the OD trans, ac, wheels, tires etc.

I love that truck. Def glad to see a GMC with an inline and slammed. A similar route I been wanting to go. I love the patina and the elegance of that engine.
So is she running now, or just moched up?

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Hi Big Irish. Love what you've done with your truck. I am putting a GMC 302 in my 52 GMC and am very curious what all you did to your frame and suspension. My truck is in a million pieces, but I'm starting with the frame and would love to have a rolling chassis that looks just like yours. Any advice or details you can give me would be awesome! I only live about 2 hours from Toronto. Thanks.

It does take up a lot of real estate.

Wow ...I love that truck. That shade of (silvery) blue is one of my all time favorite colors. I can see why you would miss it.. How long was the built time on that one?

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

6yrs are nothing...Mine took over 10. Before kids I had a lot more time and money. The project slowed and money dried up when the kids arrived. I wouldnt have it any other way.

Good call on building a clone. You do nice work.

Re: How about some pics of 47-59

Congratulations and good luck on both getting the burb finished up and more importantly the birth of your first child. The funny thing is since my family (2 boys and a wife) out grew my truck I'm thinking of a 47-53 burb as my next project.
