Pardon my ignorance. It's 96 in the sun here today. We'll compare this winter for the opposite direction.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

This is my current project, 65 chevy on a 90 chevy C3500 frame. 454 big block chevy, th400, dana rear end (all standard on the 3500). I'm currently in the process of putting a 6" front/8" rear lowering kit on it. Just got the c-notches done yesterday. It's a slow moving project but i'm hoping to have it on the read by april.

Updated pics of mine, top pick is how i bought it and bottom two are how she sits today. Changed the name to El Diablo Naranja (The Orange Devil). In the last few days i got a flat tire, ran out of gas on the freeway, had a small engine fire and bought some craigslist black steelies that dont fit. But i love these trucks!

Talking Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

Just a few pics of my '65 fleet, big window that's been NtheFamily since new.
Uncle bought in '65 by trad'n a '57, dad bought from him in the mid 70's, then '91 he told me if I wanted it, then to redo it. So I started in '91 and 10 years later after nights and weekends and not know what i was doing, here it is.

Re: How about some pics of 60-66 Trucks

OK, here are a couple of pics of my 66. Haven't found affordable 6 lug wheels I like yet, since photos taken I've added a tonneau cover, trailer hitch receiver. Not sure what I'm going to do to engine it is now a 292 with a 4-speed (car) saginaw and I want to drop it when I add disc brakes. Taclem in Idaho

I've been looking at your build-up site. Great shop, great Ideas, great work, what more can I say. Except lets see more of the Studes, I am rodding a 40 Commander 4-dr that I originally purchased in '65 for $15. I fixed it up once, kinda restored it once and now I want to do it with comfort and reliability. My 66 C10 started as a long wb fleetside. I bought it for $400 about 1 year ago, found a short wb roller frame and just been slowly putting it all together. The bed is from a 78 4x4 that ended up costing $50 after scrapping the rest of the truck. I need to find a steering column and either a higher geared rear or an overdrive of some sort. I need another gear or two. Maybe a two wheel drive would be best to find but rare here in SE Idaho. Everyone had 4x4's. Good job on your thread. I will stay tuned. Taclem

Nice looking stepper. How far do you plan on droping it. I've always liked the steps with a rack and fat tires in the back.

I hope to drop it about 4" in front with spindles and springs. It has leaf springs in the rear and I think I can drop it about 3" by relocating the side of the axle the where the spring mounts. Be careful in Iraq, taclem

man I love to see 60-66 drag trucks. Do you plan on keeping the front sheet metal or going with the fiberglass front tilt?

The picture with the new chevy towing the older chevy makes me think of the grandson helping the grandpaw.

When I brought my cab from Ill. to New Orleans EVERYWHERE we stopped for gas made the guys come around and strike up a conversation!

Fun trip.
