Re: calling anybody thats gone from 73-80 to 81-87 front end
Hey guys I have done 2 swaps to fit this build. A 79 to 87 Clip & A 73 to 89 that I am working on now. I have gotten all the part to line up without modification, except the slanted hood mounts on the CUVU. that was quiet easy, with a grinder and 4 blades. However the only problem I seem to have is the fact that I don't know if an 87 Lower Grille Mount will fit for an 89 Grille? Any possible answers?
1973 GMC Super Custom 25HD This was Original from Ft. Lewis, WA. Previous MP Army Truck Used On Base. Original Primer Red under the blue with 350 5.7 4bolt Main. v8. Set up with 3 25gal. Tanks. (These Photos are 2 yrs old) 1973/89 GMC Super Custom 25HD (Flat Bed Special) These Photos are The Now, (I know the Flat Bed is touching the Rear Tires, Doing a 2 Inch Body Lift and a 4 inch Block Lift with the Suspension to fix that Problem. This goes to show that You can Modify any front end with a bit of Elbow Grease & Question Asking.) (I need to update these photos so, don't get too worried.. I have an I-6 250 under the hood with M22 Transmission with NP205. Dana 44-50 With FMJ Locking Hubs & Corp 14 Bolt Rear Axle 4.56 Gears in the rear. All Original Runny Gear From 73 Super Custom, Only Changed Out Cab, Motor, Front Clip.) 79/87 CUVU On The CUVU you can tell that I did some edits of the fact of the Turn Signals, & The fact that no I didn't swap the Hubs from a Six Lug to Eight Lugs, Both Axles are 3/4 ton The Rear is a Corp 14 Big Pumpkin 4.56 Ratio with a Dana 60 Front Axle with 4.56 Ratio. Manual Locking Hubs & M20 4 Speed Transmission with NP203.
