Re: 71 Ol' Blue

Well, some plans have changed once again. A friend is donating a 700r4 with a 2500 stall for Ol' Blue. Sending the tranny off to have it beeft up and shift kit installed. Also, he is selling me a nice set of roller rockers on the low low. With my budget being shot, I might get Ol' Blue on the road by the end of the year.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue

Well change in plans once again. My funds won't allow for the tranny swap at this time but it will happen in the future. Finished ordering all my needed motor parts to get it installed and running. I THINK! Which busted my budget so I hope I got all of them. I got vacation time p[ut in for a few days next week so my hopes is to have Ol' Blue movin on its on by Wednesday 12th.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue

Oh! I will. My buddy at the shop is always joking with me about the camera. He said if I would stop taking so many pics I might actually get some work done on the truck.

Running huh? Well that's a lot further than I will be anytime soon. I just want to drive mine.

Well good luck. Now I have to go and study for a test tomorrow. Bleh!

Re: 71 Ol' Blue

Thanks! Friends of mine keep saying just put a GM 350 create motor in the truck, but I wanted something different then the stand 350 that everyone has. Then I thought I could do an LS swap, but did not want to deal with the nightmare that comes with the wiring.

Can't wait to get started on the truck tomorrow. Plans to install the power brake booster and power steering setup. Then get the motor ready for install if my last set of parts show up in time.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue

Didn't get a lot done today. Cleaned and painted the transmission. Got more parts for motor at local speedshop. Then got home to find that big brown left me a present. I should be all set now on parts to get this beast installed.

Re: 71 Ol' Blue

Just got the motor and tranny set in place. I forgot the camera today but I will get pics in the morning and post tomorrow. That #%$@ tranny kicked my butt. Just would not line up for nothing, had to take a couple beer breaks. Motor is primed and ready to have gas and battery hooked up in the morning so keep the fingers crossed that she runs tomorrow. Oh! almost forgot I still got to convert it for hei. Anyways wish me luck....

Re: 71 Ol' Blue

SHE'S ALIVE!!!!!! Still at the shop will post pics later tonight. I still have a lot to do. Route plug wires, hook up fuel filter, custom fit an alternator bracket, belts, etc. But turned over about 10 times and fired right up....

Re: 71 Ol' Blue

Here are the pics I promised. Remember everything still isn't routed right. Just got it ready to crank and run. Will iron a few things out tomorrow. The bad thing is I have to work tomorrow night so I will only get a half day work on it.
