Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

Don't forget me for the cruise. Assuming, of course, I get started, and get finished enough that I can drive in it.

How is the body work coming. When will it be done. Just wondering. Maybe I missed it but have you decided what color you are going to paint it.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

my build has taken so long ... the color combination that i picked out 7 years ago "that i thought would be unique" has become quite popular now, but it will be bright mercedees silver with red interior, my painter was at SEMA all week last week so no progress last week but hopefully this week they will be back on it , im going to his shop tonight to do a little more grunt labor !!

Surely it will look better than most that have been painted with that combo, it has to! The hinges are to cool and we are starving for another update!

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

yes the silver will look good , it might hide some of the forming in the bodywork (like the waist line crease and other angles ) a nice pinstripe would work there
darker high gloss colours are better at enhancing them but are worse at hiding flaws in the bodywork (like small dents or waving in the metal)

well here is last nights progress, fitting the front sheet metal (looks like we will be adding a little bit to the front of the doors to close up the gaps a little) and still stripping, stripping, stripping........man it takes a long time to strip a truck !!!

You must be a perfectionist! Those door gaps look fine to me. I'll just remember not to park next to you at any shows.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.

Re: 67 cheby's Dropmember build thread

I really like the idea of the flush mounted brake booster, the dual diaphram style looks really long under the hood if you use the factory bracket. Can you show us some more pics of it under the dash when you get the linkage figured out. thanks.

Is there a GM application that uses that small booster or is it purely an aftermarket item?
