Re: "If I could have any truck..." Confessions Of A Chevy Guy
Here is a truck, or build one like it, I have always wanted to build. years ago I had a few '36-'40 Chevys that size and wanted to do this with one. Just saw this one yesterday at an antique truck show. I left there and didn't drive 5 miles and I see this for sale. But I could only wish right now...Dang it!

That's a cool old bus. You don't see too many of them anymore.

Been driving 8-luggers ll my life. Always had plenty of truck to do what was needed. Through the years, as gas went up, I kept adjusting to the cost. But holy cow, looking at it all now I sure would love to have a light little thing to bop into town and all around in. If I'm going thrifty I'm going all the way. No 1/2 way V6 for me, I want a 4 banger. This little thing I'd love to have

Re: "If I could have any truck..." Confessions Of A Chevy Guy
I finally got a chance to stop by our local stone yard and get a couple pics of my buddy's DD. This '71 200 started out as a 383 / 4 spd / 2wd and is now a 440 / auto / 4wd. I love this body style.

Re: "If I could have any truck..." Confessions Of A Chevy Guy
My father in law bought a 71 200 brand new and I thought it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen, and here I sit now, thinking what a cool truck.

I had bought an '87 Samurai for my fiance to drive to nursing school that I had hoped to keep to play with once she got something else. I'd like to build one for my version of a side by side

Yep TruTracs, 37/14.50-15 on 10 x 15 8-lug wheels. I was young and a set of 15s was a good bit less. Hey, made them look beefier! . I'll stick my neck out and show myself from back then (for perspective's sake)

Re: "If I could have any truck..." Confessions Of A Chevy Guy
I do own some Fo&ds, but I remember a friend bought one of the last Fo@d Lightnings, came over and took me for a ride, when he kicked it and that supercharger kicked in,I was impressed,so I would say one of those in the garage would be O.K.

Re: "If I could have any truck..." Confessions Of A Chevy Guy
Well, since you mention the Lightning, I've wanted to drive one but never had the chance. I really thought GM would come out with a comparable short bed reg cab hotrod at the same time to compete with ford but they did not. A supercharged Chevy shorty would have been fun.

Re: "If I could have any truck..." Confessions Of A Chevy Guy
The big 3 used to all build their own version of the same truck. With the GMT400s that all changed. Next Dodge comes out with their "Rules have changed" campaign with their new truck with their own ideas. Then you had all 3 makers using totally different 4wd front end designs, for instance. GM did the 454SS first, Ford did the Lightning fast! I think it should have been a perked-up LT1. A black Sport with 350 and an SLP treatment was a good runner.
