I considered both but I painted the wheels (car rally's) on my X-wifes S10 Blazer white to match the truck. They looked good but the fronts were dirty all the time + the heat/dust from the brakes changed the tone to bone color vs. fleet white.

When I use GM Rally wheels (truck or car), I paint them the dull aluminum color. My '99 has grey interior so I was leaning toward that & seeing Tim's truck reaffirms.
Lighter vs the black & see if I like them that way for a while.

I think they'll look mellow. No trim rings and caps is kind of Euro with silver, too

I went with my usual silver on my current truck. Starting with the last 30 years or so that's been my main choice on all my trucks. I may change in the future but it doesn't seem likely.

Where did the shortbed go? I could have swore a page back or so, you had a brown/tan/gold shortbed! Maybe I'm just losing it!

You're not losing it bud. I sold the short bed.

This truck I bought from my neighbor. He bought it new 25 years ago and it is very low mileage original. I wanted this truck more than the shortbed.

A lot of my pictures on this board got nuked recently when I got a divorce from SmugMug who used to host my pictures and take money from me.

Nice looking truck Kevin. What are the tire size, drop and truck specs?

Front 2 inch drop coil with Belltech shocks. 255/60-15 on 8 inch rally wheel.

Rear 4 inch Belltech drop leaf springs. Belltech shocks. 275/60-15 on 8 inch rally wheel.

I chose coils in the front over spindles so I didn't have wheel interference issues and the need to trim the lower arms. In the back I chose the drop leaf springs because they are way easier to install than drop hangers and shackles and also it addresses the inevitable lean or unlevel sag that these trucks get in the back as they get older.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

My experience with lowered leaf springs have all been Belltech.

I have run two sets of them on GMT400 trucks, including this one. And I ran a set on a Ford Ranger I built a couple of years ago. They flat work and they fix any bit of out-of-level the trucks have. People underestimate how much leaf springs sag over time and then say "Chevy lean, they all do that". Not with good leaf springs they don't. And it beats all to hell having to remove the riveted on hangers for a typical 4 inch rear drop.

Really nice! Goes to show how a well designed vehicle stands out. A little extra rubber to set it off as being special to the owner and kept up is all they need. They look good all by themselves

An update to my ‘91. I have had these Outlaw wheels for 20 years and this is the 3rd truck they’ve been on.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Part II

I got a new factory GM 88-93 grille and lights for my truck. Then I finally found some 88-89 sealed beam assemblies in the junkyard. So I converted my 97 model work truck front end to an 88-89 Silverado quad sealed beam front end. The GM grille is so much nicer than aftermarket. i had to save my money a long time to get all the new factory parts. One area I cut corners on was buying a billet grille emblem rather than a new OEM one. GM gets eye watering money for new original grille emblems.

I always wanted to swap the headlights in my '92 with glass 88-89 lights. A nice improvement.

I think I gave like 35 dollars for the headlight assemblies from PicknPull. Then I wound up buying four new sealed beam bulbs from Rockauto. Some bead blast time and new hardware and paint and it wound up being nearly 100 bucks for them. But they're worth it in my eyes.

The turn signal lights below them are different too. They have black trim around them rather than silver like the 90-93 uses. And they mount on special 88-89 only brackets which go between the grille shell and the light housings to space them out further.

Nice detail. I always noticed the difference and preferred the early bulb set-up.
