Re: Crash's 1988 Land Cruiser Build

That storage box turned out great! Do you mind me asking where you sourced the drawer sliders from? I've been thinking about building something similar for the front storage area of my toy hauler, but I haven't been able to find sliders long enough to make it worth it.

Re: Crash's 1988 Land Cruiser Build

Time for an update… It has been a few months, I am still driving the FJ62 every day. It is my daily driver. I have put ~31000 miles in the L33 since I installed last year. I got it running on July 31st of last year and so far I haven’t had any issues.. Knocking on wood here..
Last update I installed a ARB locker in the rear, since then I have..

Built some tool holder devices to keep my tools organized and easy to find. It also helps with identify when a tool is missing.. I think I have about $10 invested in these..

I have used the tools a lot more than I thought I would. I try to use them even when I am in the shop just to make sure I am not missing anything I might need on the road.

Next up is the horns… My wife always laughs at me when I would get on the horn to alert the jackass next to me that he is drifting in my lane because he is preoccupied with his/her damn phone.. The little bit of noise it makes is so high pitched, I doubt anybody could hear it a highway speeds. I decided to do something about it. I looked on line at aftermarket horns, but after thinking about it I decided to go with horns from the local pull-apart. I selected a nice set of mid 80 Cadillac horns 3 dollars for both.. They have been very effective in getting the cell phone jackasses attention.

Last but not least.. I finally connected the HNL transfer case selector. I had o built a bracket to mount the shifter to. The one that comes with the advanced adapter kit must be designed for the FJ60 and not the FJ62. I used a piece of 3/16” plate and the mount from the adapter kit.

My plan was to tear the FJ62 down this winter and do a ground up redo… sand blasting, powder costing, repair and replace dents and rust and then paint the vehicle. That may be delayed a little bit… I went looking for a FJ80 to drive while I have the FJ62 tore down, and I found this..

So I need to get the LX450 running before the tear down can start.

Wish me luck

Digging the tool organization shadow boxes! I wouldn't expect any less out of you
When are we going to see a new build thread? Surely, you have to have some kind of winter project planned by now
Nice work on the shifter mount too!

Here is my newest LS victim.. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=683890

You know I have a evil plan to LS power as many vehicles as I can before I leave this earth.

I am also about to start on build a 12x12 storage building at the lake so that I can actually work in the shop.. lol.. I might post that on here when I get started.
