Man, that looks awesome! You are making really great progress. I really like the accent color, I'm thinking of doing something similar except with a deeper darker red. This definitely helps with the decision. It also makes me want to get working on mine again, life has gotten in the way lately...

Thanks for the compliments. It seems to be coming together slowly but surely. I also debated doing the accent color but I'm glad I did even though 75% of it won't be seen lol.

Re: My first C10 build, can't wait.

Spent a couple hours cleaning up the rear end this weekend. That took longer than expected. Now I have to make and weld on the trailing arm brackets. After that I can start to mount the trailing arms and ladder bar and the rear end set up. A buddy of mine found me an old 2 piece drive shaft to cut down. Hope to get my tranny this week.

Re: My first C10 build, can't wait.

Spent the rest of the weekend mounting the motor (minus the tranny) and getting the freshly painted rear end in place.

Hmm did you consider going with a 700R4 so you could get overdrive it's just as stout as a TH350.

Re: My first C10 build, can't wait.

Yes that is what i really wanted but it was gonna be an additional $800 or so and the 350 turbo was an even swap.

Ok well the good news is you can upgrade to the 700R4 at any time when you get some extra money.

Haha I know right? It really is unreal, everytime they win a game they are setting a new NFL record.
They will clobber the Bills so they will be 9-0 next week, then they have a Bye and then they play the Denver Donkey's which will be the best game of the year so far.
If they keep this up they are Superbowl bound, Go Chiefs!

Re: My first C10 build, can't wait.

I just received word from Travis at AZ Pro Performance that my air management goodies are on their way. Next week I should be able to start plumbing the air ride.

I still am waiting on my tranny. I mocked up some new axle pads out of 18ga, now i just have to get them cut out in 3/16" for the axle.

A buddy of mine found a 2 piece drive shaft that I can have to cut down also, that will be a big help also. Any recommendations on carrier bearings or mounting?

Mike-

We make the axle mounting pads... just in case you need some.

Also, here's a part number you can cross on the carrier bearing: Carrier Bearing (carquest part# HB88107A) has a bore diameter of 1.378"

I am also working on a adapter bracket that will allow the use of the carrier bearing that has the mounting holes in line with the driveshaft. Gonna be a few weeks until I get that done. MIGHT be a little easier to use with the new style trailing arm x-member.

Nate

Thanks Nate. I just talked to Dave and he gave me the cost and some more information regarding the pinion and driveshaft setup.

Another early Christmas present. Thank you Travis from AZ Pro Performance for the Air Ride goodies. Now I can finally get this thing off of jack stands and back on the ground.
