The truck is on jack stands right now, but when I had the 20s on the truck they were probably 4-5 inches off the ground. I had plenty of ground clearance with everything on the truck. The lowest part of the truck was the section of my exhaust, where it comes done from the headers then back up to the Cat. I had about 2.5-3"s clearance from the ground and I always hit the exhaust on certain things. I knew I was going to be swapping out the motor so I never had the exhaust done.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

This is the first time seeing your truck on here but like everyone else has said you nailed it! Perfect stance, wheels, and the blue looks awesome. I had a truck in high school that was the same metallic blue and have loved it ever since. The torque thrust II's were going to be my next wheels but I'm not so sure now after seeing the Eagle 225's on yours. Thanks for sharing the great pics!

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Thanks, I actually almost regret selling them. I would of been further along with the project if I would have just kept them thats for sure! If you are thinking about getting these, just a heads up but I would get a 20x8.5 with a 5" backspace. I had the ones with a 4.5" Backspace and it was just too close for comfort. Always was worrying about turning on an incline and rubbing the lip.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Thanks for the heads up. Yeah I know what you mean about being scared of rubbing the lip, I scuffed my wheel a little bit on my 85. It's a sickening feeling when that happens would rather not have to worry about that happeningl. I searched on ebay for the Eagle 225's last night and the first set that popped up had a couple pictures of your truck in the ad! Haha

That. Is. Gorgeous. If you don't mind me asking, what's your rim specs? And did you lower the back end less than the front to get that look?

The wheels were 20x8.5 Front with a 4.5" Backspace, I had a 245/35/20 tire on there. The rear was 20x10 with a 5.5" Backspace and a 295/35/20 tire. I did lower the back end more because because there was a 2" difference between the tires. If I would of only done a 6" drop out back it would of sat too high.

If you are planning to drop your truck the best advice I can give you is if you can put the wheels your going to be running on the truck first, Do it. The best way to get the perfect stance is to put the wheels on the truck and measure where you want the truck to sit and go from there.

Yeah I plan too, and I do want to see how it sits naturally with the rims on there. I was thinking a 18/20 staggered setup with the front an inch lower than the back. I like a really poised stance, but I may end up dropping it evenly since the rims are already going to have a 2 inch height difference without tires. I was considering something in the 255/.../R20 range and going with a 305/.../R20 on the back if going with both at 20". Or same widths for 18" fronts and 20" backs. Depends on what rims I find for it that just make it for me and what sizes they come in. Thanks for the information though. I really appreciate it.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

Do you have any picture of the rear tires and the clearance from the fender? I bought some TT2 20x9.5( 295/40/20) with 4.5 backspacing and did a 5" flip kit and looks like its gonna be close.....

I dont have any pictures but from what I remember it was pretty close, Maybe a little under an inch. However I have an 8" Drop, My wheels where 20x10 with a 295 tire, and 5.5 Inches of backspace. It might be extremely close and that 5" drop will be the lowest you could possibly go. I bet you would have just enough room if you rolled your wheel well lips, I didnt roll mine and if I would have, I would of had close to an inch and a half more space.

The color is Light Blue Metallic, Its either GM code 21 or 23. I will check my build sheet when I get home. And give you the correct code then.

Re: Truck Is Now Dropped!!

I bought them from discount tires, they are 5x127/5x5. Try ebay or JD wheels.
