No doubt! I have already managed to do a few small things with my spare time and have found myself walking into the garage to visualize ideas.

Re: Iced Green dream

Put my hood on for a test fit, cant seem to get the center of the hood where the cowl is to sit flush. Any suggestions? I am the furthest thing from a body man. Got my solenoids mounted, I decided to mount them behind the rear end. No particular reason why, other than I did not want the air exhaust in the cab. I also got my sport mirrors mounted.

Re: Iced Green dream

Fixed my hood issues. Not sure why but one of my hoods just wouldn't sit down in the middle of the cowl. Put the hood back on that came with the cab and front clip I'm using and the issues are gone. Today I ordered a lot of parts. I'm hoping to fire this thing up by march. Realistically i should be able to fire it up soon. I really don't need anhything else now, just time to put it back in running order. I have a feeling my work schedule is going to keep me occupied for the next few months with little time to work on the truck, but having it at home is definitely helping my progress. I ordered a powder coated water pump, powder coated alternator and took all my pullies and brackets to the powder coater today. My driveline should be here next week along with my ride height sensors and brake lines for my rear end. I decided not to run the billet specialties tru trac system. I just couldn't pull the trigger it was crazy expensive. Nice unit, just out of my price range for now. My AC won't be in until I get my original cab finished anyway. Man I hope to have some updates with photos soon. Until then, stay out of trouble.

I'll have to take a look at them. I think using my original pullies is going to work out good and fit the look I'm after for now. I really don't want anything to polish, that's why I liked the black anodized stuff from bil specialties. I really like their AC compressor manifold too.

Re: Iced Green dream

OK so I have changed my mind once again. Im getting good at this. I started to look at my brackets and pullys that I had lined up to put on and I didnt like the way things were headed. My alternator and PS pump would have all been to one side of the motor with nothing on the passenger side. I started looking at pullys and brackets that would even things out. My PS bracket was bulky and Im not even sure what it came from. I thought it was original to the truck I pulled it from but now I'm thinking it wasnt. It had a chevelle pully on the pump. Anyway, I decided to run the billet specialties mid mount serpentine set up. It doesnt come in black so I will probably powder coat it as soon as Im sick of polishing it. I guess when I get it mounted up I will see how it looks. I have always tried to stay clear of the polished aluminum stuff, but they say it has a clear powder coat over the polishing so maybe it wont be that bad. Once my water pump gets here, another 2 weeks, I will mount it all up and see how she looks. This will finally finish off my motor minus a few fittings and adapters.

Re: Iced Green dream

my driveline should be done this week, as soon as it is I'm dropping it off to the powder coater with my other stuff that's already there. I decided while I was waiting on parts to finally get around to putting my AC dash in my original cab. I got the dash from board member Rokcrln. It went in fairly easy being that I have little expeirence messing with stuff like this. I did some research on the board and followed the steps everyone else took. Just drilled out the factory spot welds, a little grinding and tacked the new one in. I'm actually quite happy with how it turned out. All I have for now is a cell phone pic.

Re: Iced Green dream

Nice work on the dash! That was the pulley setup I was considering. From what I've read they hold up pretty well with the clear coat as long as no chemicals/gas get on them...

Good to know. I'm hoping the polish is easy to maintain. I may end up really liking the polished stuff on the front of the motor. I know for sure I would like black so having the powder coat option as a back up is good.

Re: Iced Green dream

Pully's came in and I will definitely be powder coating them. Just going to be too much maintenance for me. Just taking them out of the packaging got them all smudged up. Going to drop them and the brackets off on Friday.

Re: Iced Green dream

Got the alternator but the water pump was pushed out at least another 2 weeks with no guarantees. I cancelled it and ordered a different one that has already shipped. I will get it Tuesday. Monday morning I pick up my drive line and pullies from the powder coater. Looking forward to seeing how they turned out. I also got my ride height sensors in and I am going to start to install them soon. Little at a time. My goal is April 20th. I already put in for the entire week off from work in preparation to get this thing back on the road.
