I totally missed that one!!! Here I was thinking XXL was a little pervert, and all he was doing was complimenting me on my choice of nail polish! I do think the Hello Kitty is a nice touch.

Re: Dropmember in a 69 C10

WOW! That custom built dropmember that welds in looks sweet. That guy who gets that one must be one lucky guy. I bet the truck that is going into is going to be one of the nicest c10's ever built. . I crack my self up sometimes! Nathans dropmember is a very well built piece of art. I haven't had a chance to install it yet because i have been gone for a week for work but next week it is my GOAL. Jimmydean- Nathan and I thought that a weld in one will compliment my frames design and I would imagine that it will be stronger and more ridgid than a bolt in one (assuming it was properly welding in) like Nathan mentioned. I am learning as i build my truck so I am not expert at all. Keep an eye on my build thread next week for some pics of the dropmember welded in and hopefully in the correct spot. There i go again cracking myself up.

Are you planning to center the spindle to the fender opening in the ride height position, dumped, or somewhere in between?

Re: Dropmember in a 69 C10

I am going to center it at dump height since it is going to be more of a show truck than driver. That was all figured in when Nathan built the dropmember. I am just going to tack it in until i get the cab and front clip in to verify that it is centered before i weld it up.

This doesn't really belong here, but after bolting the wheels on it looked so good I have to share it!
It's a 69 camaro coupe that is transforming into a two-seater roadster.

The wheels are BOZE FORGED, they're 19x8s up front and 20x12s in the rear. The tires are Michelin 275/35R19 and 335/30R20. The rears are 28" tall.

Kevin-
I only thought it was legal to hijack your own thread! The truck's looking good... I think it needs a Dropmember C4 to compliment that Vette motor!

Some love it, some hate it, and others don't know what to think. It is a customer vehicle and a blend of ideas. I do like the dash and the roll bar (it may look a little 'Miami Vice" right now, but isn't completed yet)...so cut me some slack!
Once the car is further along I will post up some more pics... maybe your opinion will change! Then again, you didn't like my Hello Kitty nail polish either

Did you just give away the paint scheme? (I'm picturing neon pink, some bluish-purple, and a big mural of this on the hood)...

And, I LOVE the Hello Kitty nail polish. I'm just feeling jealous because I can't find any of that stuff locally.

I'm a liitle worried at how quickly you found that Miami Vice pic... did you take it out of the frame to scan it in?

Unfortunately the mural wouldn't fit on the hood or deck-lid... besides, we're using their cigar boat for the inspiration!

Trust me if this truck was not built this way 7yrs ago I would go for the dropmember in a heart beat. But since the rear frame is already done, bed is stepped as well I would do it but since it won't go any lower in the rear I can't see it needing to be any lower in the front But don't worry that 2wd blazer is getting closer by the day But I do need new tires for this truck to better fill the wheel wells and the bed is already maid for it and wider!

Here's a few of the rendering angles that give a better idea as to what the finished product will look like. There have been a few small changes from the renderings.
