Shocks Opinions

Have a '53 with 3" lowered axle with 3" leaf pack in front, out back on the rear have a 6" mono leaf.

Looking to replace worn out older shocks, does anyone have any recommendations of good performance shocks for these trucks with running straight axles.

Thank you

Re: Shocks Opinions

I'd just go with my favorite brand with a gas shock that wasn't too stiff. Main thing is don't go with too stiff aka heavy duty of a shock. I worked in a Firestone store in the early 70's and had to pull more than on set of Monroe Magnums off (those big fat yellow ones) because they rode too stiff for a lot of people who didn't need them anyhow.

My ongoing truck projects:
48 Chev 3100 that will run a 292 Six.
71 GMC 2500 that is getting a Cad 500 transplant.
77 C 30 dualie, 454, 4 speed with a 10 foot flatbed and hoist. It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around.
