Blazer Chalet #0661

New Chalet owner here. My wife and I have been looking for a Chalet for a little while, and after a long back and forth with the seller we are finally done. We bought Chalet #0661 the orange one that has been around for awhile. It was shipped to a family's place in Oregon where we plan to work on it over the year and then make the trip up with it to Alaska.

I don't know how I didn't put this in the first post.
I want to give huge thanks to board member 77blazerchalet for all his help and references during the process of acquiring this blazer. Super helpful, even during my constant emails and questions.

You are quite welcome!

Long story on this one, and quite tragic about its degeneration in appearance for the camper unit under the ownership of a guy about two generations back. If a person does enough searching around in Google images for these rigs, this one pops up in its earlier appearance, before the '76 model year camper unit got its stripes ripped off and the camper incorrectly repainted. Who knows what the prior owner guy was thinking, but I have it from the first owner I contacted way back in 2005 that this oddball '77 Blazer with a '76 camper was apparently a factory original combo. My speculation is the Chinook factory still had at least two '76s left over (Chalet #0567 is the only other one I know if like that), so they put them on two '77 Blazers. It'll be an uphill struggle to return it to it's factory-new appearance, but if done, it'll be one of the more rare versions of an already rare rig. I know of only one other pastel orange/tan Chalet, #1024 with its '77 camper unit, as seen in this still-functioning 2012 page.
