trying to pull the harmonic balancer - questions

Let me preface this with I know I'm dump. I'm just learning.
Have a 72 chevy c10. Pulling the harmonic balancer.
Have removed crank pulley etc. Connected puller to harmonic balancer.
Have removed radiator. When I try to put my impact on the end of the puller,
I can because of the lower radiator support. I am being dumb, or do you have to also remove the lower radiator support?

Thanks and be gentle.

Do you have room to use a wrench on the puller? That's what I did the last time, and I inserted a wooden dowel through a couple of the puller bolts to keep the crankshaft from spinning.

Have you tried a breaker bar
With a pry bar in the puller to keep engine from rotating?

Remember to use a pusher to put it back on. LOL. Also check the ware on the balancer seal area. If the is worn they sell a sleeve and seal combo to fix it. You don't have to replace the balancer.
